Who do you guys like to use to have your stuff rechromed? I'm going to need bumpers, backup bezels, tail light housing and some other items rechromed.

Ive used Tri-City for bumpers. They also did my vent windows, but since then I think they only do bumpers now. I have used Iversons for pot metal and chrome bezel restoration, very nice work. I have also used Northern KY plating and Advanced Plating in Nashville. All did good work.

Agreed. I used Tri-City plating for my bumpers and they came back awesome. How was Iversons on price and what kind of job did they do? My friends have used people for pot metal and the chrome was nice but started blistering again after just over a year.

I sent Ogden a 70 Cuda front bumper and they gave me one price and then totally lied about their price and changed it and added an extra hundred bucks. They wanted $850. to do a perfectly straight original bumper that's 1/3 the size of a B-body bumper. I had them return it! They may do great work but I refuse to deal with liars.

I've had great luck with Tricity. They've done 4 sets for me. I like to use the originals bumpers if they are salvageable, and have sent some crappy bumpers off, and they've always came back nice and fit nice.

Considering the cost of shipping large parts, I'd ask around about local shops....Harley riders usually know what shops do good work.

Keep in mind that most shops aren't equipped to handle bumpers.

Advanced Plating in Nashville did mine. Nice, but pricey. That was years ago so I imagine the prices are higher now. Their chrome work is flat and smooth like a wet sanded and buffed paint job. Makes the chrome on the $200 repo bumpers you see on Ebay etc. look like crapola when doing a side by side comparison.

I had Ogden do my truly ugly bent/twisted/rusty '67 GTX front about 5-6 years ago it was $350-$400 including shipping both ways. They did an excellent job, absolutely perfect. Fast forward to 2015 and the price Ogden quoted to do my pretty decent '68 bee rear bumper somehow jumped to $850. Needless to say, I passed. Since I now live in the San Diego area I gave Escondido Chrome a call. Family owned business for something like 50+ years. They triple plated the Bee bumper for $390 and it turned out perfect, probably better than original. One thing the owner warned me about is that many platers now GRIND off the old plating to save on high chemical (disposal?) costs. This destroys original lines and creates waviness in the finished job. Escondido Chrome still removes old plating electrochemically. Something you should verify with your plater no matter who you choose. Good luck!

Iversons has done several 65 console bases for me, console tops, C Pillar chrome, windshield crome, horn ring etc. All nice work and holding up 10-15 years. No detai, lost in process, crisp lines and parts fit correctly when returned. Hes not cheap, but its nice work.
