Thinking about converting my '70 satellite. Would finding a donor car be easier/cheaper?

I got mine at Union auto parts. $20 for everything with thick useable rotors.

Late model A body car or FMJ car is probably the easiest way to go. Might still find something in a wrecking yard or you can usually find the knuckles for sale in the parts area.

I got my stuff from www.scarebird.com easy and used OEM GM parts. So if that bothers you it may not be what you want.

Yes, the knuckles are very interchangeable. Any B body knuckle will fit your B body, any E body will fit, any FMJ knuckle will fit, any R body knuckle will fit, and any A body from 1973 or newer will fit. All bolt in without any changes. Any of those knuckles can fit on either side so you can hang the calipers to the front or to the rear.

If you can spend a few extra bucks, do yourshelf a favor and use tubular A arms from the start.

At a salvage yard back in 96. I got the spindles and rotors from a 74 duster with the sissor/brake booster bracket....oh and the upper control arms. The caliper brackets and calipers were gone. I look over at the car next to it which was an 80 diplomat and took the caliper bracket off and caliper over and put on the 74 Duster and it worked. Then I put it all on my 64 Valiant.

Wrecking yards, several times. Swap meets a few times. A few times the car even came with them.
