Is there supposed to be a depression in a big block dipstick tube near the port of the tube that connects to the transmission? Please reference the attached photos. I'm not sure if the was intended to prevent a rattle against the trans case or actual physical damage.

Probably dented so it wouldn't rattle.

I will never use a stock tube and dip stick again after using the Mancini Racing locking dip stick. No more leaky dip stick tube.
