Wondering if anyone had any negative experiences with this product?

I've got it in my cars. No problems.

I get it at NAPA, but it's about $40 a gallon there.

The most important information on the jug is "GL-4". That means it does not contain the EP additives that will make your synchros less effective. Although I have to admit there must be a million trucks and cars running around with a GL-5 gear oil. But it's not optimal and can have very bad results.

So the GL-4 85W-90 looks like a good match for an old 4-speed.
