Could a B1 PSO head, max N/A, with a 4.600 x 4.500, cast single 4, approach 1200hp, or would a sheetmetal with 2 carbs be a must???
I'm talking about a killer here, NOT a bracket build.
15+ comp, high buck ring stack, light bob, dry sump, .500+ lobe with 1.8s, Cubic or Book domi, Ti valves, CGI block, state-of-the-art port and manifold work, cam and dist. belt driven, all the good stuff.

Call Best Machine and see what they say. I'm not sure there is a cast intake available that will make that power.
Not even if MBE or Wilson get their hands on it???
I think Chuck at Best makes about 1100 with a B-1 MC and a single 4.
Maybe he'll chime in.

Hi Mike.
I thought the World CGI blocks are capable of a 4.600 bore.
That leaves 0.200 on adjacent wall thickness with a 4.800 Bore CL. Pretty thin.
0.300 with a 4.9 bore CL, but you would have to start out with a bare casting, relocate the seats, the ports wouldnt be in the right place in relationship to the seats to take advantage of the bore, etc.
.200 is thin, but I was under the impression that in a non power adder situation, .200 is acceptable.
I've heard in the Prostock blocks with CGI they go even thinner than that.
Maybe I'm nuts???

News to me, but what do I know? PS tends to throw a lot more money at their engines than we do. Wht kind of deck height?

I think the PSO could support 1200 @ 600" but NOT with only 15:1 and .900 lift, just my opinion....it would need to be a MAX EFFORT deal.
I believe our 596" B1MC will make over 1150 this year, well, I HOPE.....we made a little over 1130 last year and we made some changes, hopefully the right ones.
Thats why I put + signs on compression and cam numbers.
1150+ is some nice steam from a MC with a single.
Nice job...

Well I would think you can get there with those cubes. My B1MC makes 1050 with 100 less cubes and a "conservative" cam.
