I have always thought it was cool that every division had a name for everything , Same color, but Dodge called it this and Plymouth called it that . Same with Ford and Mercury , or Buick , Olds , Pontiac, Chevrolet etc.
It's what makes them unique , sets them apart from the crown .
People spent a lot of time coming up with those unique ad campaigns and slogans , like "white hat special" that's Dodge, not Plymouth .
Scat pack applies to Dodge, Rapid Transit system is Plymouth .
I am the kind of person that always tries to call it what it is , not what the sheep say . That's just me . But, people are always going to call Super Commandos "Magnums" they are going to call Dodge N96 ramcharger hoods "airgrabbers' , people will always call magazines "clips"
People will always call Detroit lockers, twin grips and sure grips by the GM "posi" term and six barrels will always be called six packs by 99% of the population .
I am certainly not trying to be "politically correct", just simply correct ,
or at least reasonably close as often as possible.
That's just me . Your results may vary .
To me when I hear someone refer to a Plymouth as a six pack, it sounds exactly the same as it they said they were going to the Plymouth dealer
to look at all the new Scat pack cars ...it just doesn't jive man .
I guess when you do this Mopar gig every day in one aspect or another for over 30 years, you just get set in your ways.
I am still going to cringe when I see a 69 GTX with a 440 magnum pie tin on the air cleaner . Dat ain't right . Don't even get me started on Plymouths with bumble bee stripes ...

The rarest would be a 1971 Plymouth Sport Fury GT 6bbl. Only available for one month, August, 1970.

IMHO, 3,5,15 or 64, it still can't hold a candle to the 1 of 1 Hurst 300 vert for "rarity", which is the OP's objective

And in the looks dept between a 70 vs 71 Sport Fury GT, the 70 is the cat's meow hands down...

Can't argue any of that, but did they make any 70 Sport Fury GT six barrels? Oh wait, GG lists 61 made.

I agree the 300H vert is tree rareist

The rarest would be the Pilot 65 Fury III 426 Street Hemi car, the Street Hemi was being considered for the C-Body line up in 66, but shelved and only put in the B-Body. The 65 Street Hemi Coronet (B-Body) and 65 Fury (C-Body) supposedly lived around the same time.

Any ideas as to where the 65 Fury III 426 Hemi Pilot Car actually is, or does it exist?

Don't know how many were produced(consensus says but a handful)but in the past 10 or so years of ownership have not found proof of another still in existence or any that went to the bone yard.......1965 Dodge Monaco 426W with a 4 speed. As far as any one can tell it may be(but who truly knows)the only one left in existence. Have the Chrysler Historical docs to prove she is the real deal. Still waiting to see proof of another...... Valuable? To some maybe, maybe not. Rare....probably in the top 5 or worst top 10 list for rarity.

I tend to agree with you Dan. That would also be good explanation for why Dan C's two early promo 71s were both T code 71s, rather than U code cars like the rest of the 71s. ..."Well if we are going to cancel the V code 71s (we only sold 61 last year anyway) lets go ahead and upgrade the 4bbl cars from T to U for 71....." imaginary conversation from the top floor guys at Chry/Ply...

This is the first time I have ever heard of a 1971 Sport Fury GT V-Code. Wow I'd love to see that!

When I was a kid my Dad had a dark blue 65 Monaco Custom 880 with a 426 Wedge but his was an automatic with bucket seats & console floor shifter. Every Monaco or Polara I ever see always has a column auto. I remember he had some sort of proof & documentation that it was an Ex F.B.I. car. I still can remember how fast it seemed for such a big car. It was just before my driving age & he traded it off for a Family station Wagon!!!! Wish I could have bought it from him to this day.

Your dad had either a Monaco or a Custom 880,there was no 65 Monaco Custom 880.Also,all 65 Monaco's were bucket seat console,no column shift.I had both,the 413 4 spd I mentioned above and a 383 console auto.

Thinking back on it now it was a Custom 880. The Monaco look almost the same.
