I'm putting together a 440 '70 Duster w/ 727 and 8 3/4, does 45" sound right on the CC driveshaft length? Thanks !

It seems like the one in my Dart swinger with a a 440 and 727, was 46.5" you are in the ballpark. Might be the difference in cars.

Shouldn't be any different than a 340 with a 727 and 8 3/4"... books says 44.99".

Put the motor and trans in the car with the weight of the driver in the drivers seat and enough wait in the trunk to simulate a full tank of fuel and then slide a tranny yoke in the trans all the way and then pull it out one inch and then measure the ACTUAL center to center length needed for your car thumbs twocents

Might as well check for tire clearance At the front of the wheel well for now and the future, should you go with a bigger tire. If the clearance is a bit tight, you can shim the front spring brackets back a little before getting a shaft made, or deciding if one is the right length.

73 duster with SS springs 45"
75 duster with ladder bars 45 5/8"

Always best to measure your own application to get the correct distance.
