71birdJ68 master 7 Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 4,453 Morristown Tn.	I think it went like this. With trim rings or dog dish caps, the wheel was body color, and with full wheel covers the wheels were black.

Yesterday I saw a 71 Charger on FB that was said to have a 9/20 something build and was said to be built with Black wheels and dog dished? Thanks Ron

Thanks Ron they all would've followed it, the exact date the change was implemented may differ IMO the only way for a non-black 9/20/70 car to have black wheels & hub caps was OPTION W12 & it included trim rings
