what's the best style trans filter media?
'65 727, RMVB, 4600lb wagon, 2600 stall, 560hp 630lbft
street car. gets driven 3,000+ miles in the summer northeast months.
does the style of media really matter?
what is the preferred brand?
Thanks.

Not sure if there is a difference between the yellow (Dacron?) ones. But the brass screens do not filter well. They are mainly used for applications where higher flow is needed and fluid is changed more often.

A magnafine in the return line. The ones in the pan filter out only large over 70 microns.

I'd rather have debris in my cooler flow/return system than a place for restriction to start.

If the magnafine gets clogged it has a bypass, but if it gets clogged that bad the trans is probably toast anyway.

Since you have a RMVB with no rear pump, you can use the '73-later large Dacron filter; that's what I would recommend.

I have the B&M cartridge in the line to my cooler, otherwise it fills up with clutch/band lining and difficult to clean.
