Seeing if anyone else has locked out a pro billet and noticed the shaft doesnt line up with fhe rotor button.

with the magnet lined up with a tooth (ready to fire) is the rotor pointing at or very near at a dist cap terminal post bulge (dead on with the terminal). If I am reading this right, the bottom tang does not need to be clocked parallel to the rotor, the first sentence is the bottom line. Holler back.

I did take it apart per msd instruction and turned it 180 and thats how It ended up.
Yea i can get it to line up with a post. I was worried about lining the tang up with cylinder 1 and the number 1 plug alligning while at TDC as you would with a stock one.

Move the intermediate shaft so that the rotor is pointed where you want it to be pointed.

Move the intermediate shaft so that the rotor is pointed where you want it to be pointed. & best SB clocking is with the dampener on your initial (say 15 BTDC #1 firing) & magnet lined up with the tooth that the rotor is pointing forward & slightly to the pass side. this lets the plug wires nestle the neatest with the shortest lengths possible. Not a dealbreaker by any means but every little bit helps.

It doesn't matter which way the shaft points. I've seen very few that line up with the rotor. I'd bet I have 10 distributors in the shop and not one lines up.
Turn the drive so the slot points in the direction to make the rotor point to number one on the cap. Drop it in.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston
