Can I get some help with dimensions on where to mount the front leaf spring hangers on a 68 Charger? I would assume most B body's of that vintage are the same.

Atteched is a picture of what I need to mount.

My project has new hangers for the front and rear but both are off the car. This will give me a place to start. Thanks.

Stateline- Thanks so much.

The lengths of the two red lines from A to B, and C to D should get me where I need to be.

Thank YOU!

Those holes you're using as a reference are not ideal nor is the front of the frame horn. You're better off measuring from the holes in the front crossmember back as those are factory reference holes. Measure from the holes to the face of the spring hanger mount then weld the mount square to the frame rail both out and up.

Looks like your frame connectors are covering the holes so measure from the crossmember

I think if you look in a FSM it will even have those measurements for you.

The A to B is 6 and one half inches -- C to D is 9 and three quarters

the distance from the mounting surface of front spring hanger to the center of the rear shackle bushing hole is 60 inches

Stateline, thank you for the measurements- I really appreciate it!

Stanton, the picture of the car I posted is not my car. Just a random pic of the net.

Thank you both for the advice.

Just went through all this so here's what I'd do if I were you.

If the K-member is out of the car, measure DIAGONALLY from the locator holes in the front crossmember to the front k-member bolts. If the measurements are the same that's great - the front end is square. Now you want the rear axle parallel to the front.

- Mark the install point of ONE of the rear brackets based on the measurements Stateline provided. If you're off a bit front to back its no big deal as long as both sides are the same.
- Measure from the front crossmember back to the install point.
- Now move to the other side and duplicate this measurement for the other bracket. Now both brackets will be installed eqi-distant from the crossmember.

DO NOT "assume" that any of the pan seams or frame rails have been installed equally - this is why its important to measure from the front crossmember.

NOTE - do not do the diagonal measurements at the back. If one or both framerails is slightly off and you try to make the diagonals equal it will throw off the rear axle alignment. Equal distance from the front on both sides is all that matters.
