I have a complete original Hemi auto linkage set-up but have a question about the top bellcrank.
My bellcrank has the rod stud on the outside facing the engine as seen in first picture.
Second picture shows the current reproduction with the stud facing in.
Third picture is 70-71 parts book illustration showing same as what I have.
Anyone have an original 66-71 linkage car to confirm which is correct...

The top piece matches mine on a 1967. With the stud coming out the other way the rod will hit the bolt boss on the back of the cylinder head. Somebody was looking a mirror when they made that part.

So you are saying the reproduction plated one is incorrect?
Since the stud on the repro faces the inner fender, it causes the rod to be further away from the block

That's not how it fits on the engine. A picture is needed

Look at the verticle rod how it goes inboard of the bolt boss on the back of the head. That repro bell crank will have the rod going right into the bolt boss. Not gonna fit without a custom bent rod.

Perfect pictures..Thanks !..thats what I needed.
The reproduction one is sold by one of the, if not the most knowlegeable suppliers to the hobby from Richmond Virginia.
I explained my concern but was told his reproduction is correct. shruggy

Can't see how its going to work that way.

Look at first picture, with pivot on other side of bellcrank the rod will run smack into the bolt boss on the head.

Correct for what car, year?

Sold as correct automatic kickdown linkage for 1966-71 Hemi.
Maybe his suppliers last batch had the stud put in wrong and he never caught it.
I'll talk to him again and ask him to double check

Spoke with him this morning.
Linkage he sells with that repro bellcrank with stud facing in is for 68-71 Hemi.
Stated 66 and early 67 bellcrank is same as what you and I have

Thanks Scott and Chris for the pictures clarifying the differences.
I spoke with Frank at length this morning and as we were doing so he was going through factory engineering prints he had to see if he could find info on the different bellcrank applications.
He is now going to explore having the 66-67 style made so he will carry them all.
Just emailed me stating also that 66-early 67 bellcrank also used a different vertical rod, early one pn 2780600, 68 up pn 2899931.
Top horizontal rod is same 66-71.
We all learned something today. up
