Ordered an S60 with brakes on 1/28 they told me it would be done on 2/13 and be here by today.

Called to check on it on Monday the 16th. Rep told me he was busy and would call me back. Waited 2 hours and didn't hear from him. I was mistaken about the time zone and thought it was just about 5 their time, turned out it was just about 4. The rep was pissed at me for not waiting for him to call me I told him what the problem was and he said he would check on it. Came back and his attitude totally changed, uh sorry it hasn't even been started on yet. The guy who took your order made a mistake, I'll have him call you.

Rep calls and tells me he forgot to fax my order to whoever does their welding for them. I ordered the axle with a custom width, so I guess they needed to get the housing ends welded on. I always thought Strange did that in house...

So my rep tells me that my axle will be back to Strange from the welders yesterday, 2/19 and it would ship today. Called today, and it hadn't shipped and the guy I spoke too couldn't even tell me if it was back in their hands as the rest of their crew had already left for the day.

I guess the economy hasn't hurt Strange Engineering any... they can afford to piss off a guy who just plunked down about $3000 and can just as easily get it backed off his credit card.

I went with Strange because they did good by me 20+ years ago when I had my first Dart. I guess things change with time, not always for the best...

So even if they can get the thing out on Monday I'm probably still looking at another week after that to get it here to my door in Phoenix.

I HAVE had the same experience with their sales staff. it is horrible, they talk to you like you know nothing. i refuse to buy anything direct from them. i tried to order a set of strange axles and it was a hassle just to get them to order it. i canceled the order and went to Moser. never a problem with Moser. no more strange. i also needed a part# to order a new set of strange double adjustables, they couldnt even do that for me without a arguement. the sales lady started yelling at me.

There was a Moser rep at the Norwalk awards banquet. Seemed to care alot for what the racers concerns and questions were.

Might give them a call if you don't get satisfaction fron Strange.

X2 for Dr. Diff....good communication, and parts are REALLY nice..and BG did a dana for my bro, great work and service as well. NO reason to deal with Strange if they are giving you the runaround. A pic of Dr. Diffs work...

When I use to drag race cars,I used Mark Williams
parts,axles,exc. never a problem with them,when they told me a part was going to ship,You could take It to the bank!I even used them for parts on my last couple of boats!

I custom ordered my axles, and bought bearings, studs, spool and housing ends from Moser on a Monday and they were at my door step when I got home from work Wednesday. Of course UPS ground did teir job too, but they got the order out the same day. Great folks to work with and a great value for me, no compaints.

They also redrilled a set of axles for me once for a street car, and shortened a housing and a pair of axles, it took only about w week including shipping both ways. I will stay with them, no reason for me to switch! I know a guy that twisted a Strange axle, so he called them ad they said they only cover breakage. He called Moser and ordered a set and they said if he twisted broke it or hurt theirs they would replace it at no cost.

Anyone can order Strange products through me. I'm easy to talk to and I have a very good rapport with Strange.

S-60 assemblies run about 1 month turn-around. The finished product is an excellent value.

Strange is a great company, but not good at dealing with the public. If you know exactly what you want and have part numbers and measurements in their format, it's a home run. If you don't then things get sticky. I've confused them on my own stuff before, and had delays. when I order stuff quick and simple with all the numbers it all goes fine.

Mark Williams is a fantastic company at dealing with people like me that ask too many questions and change my my mind ten times on the phone about options, and parts. They never get in a huff, and always seem to get me the stuff I need exactly when I asked for it.

Yep,,that'll do it Seriously, I've had great luck with them giving them the numbers. I can say mistakes aren't the norm for them, but they're human, so it happens. None of that makes any difference when you're waiting like Christmas morning for new parts you've already paid for. I'm the worst there is about wanting my parts on time. I'll stay home and look out the window for the truck.

Some people don't pay attention to detail and they quickly forget that it is the little stuff that kills you...

I used to work for them in the set up department, and I always hate to hear bad things about them but truth is truth. They make good stuff, but Moser is way faster on most things, I don't know who they do it but they do. Mark's stuff is always top shelf but he dosen't do fuel cars!

too bad they don't have a complaint line but I sent this thread to someone that still works there, maybe they can correct some of these issues.

overall i had the same experience dealing with them when i ordered parts for a complete 9" center. they really acted like they were doing me a favor selling me parts. only plus was one of the (obviously younger) guys in the shop was very patient and helpful. sounds like they really need some public relations training.

If you got help from the shop on set up or somehting, that might have been Johnny Kwas my buddy. Set up IS so different from Sales...

I really miss working in motorsports ...
