I have used 55MM stuff for awhile, and yes sometimes cires are hard to come by. I prefer the roller to the babbit by about a million to one smile The Predator has a big babbit deal and it SUCKS A$$ to spin over for sure. Just something else we will address next time. As for a roller failure, we had it happen in the Vette last year, was ugly and made a big mess of the block in the process

We are talking about how much torque it takes to turn an engine over on the stand. What happens when the engine is running and oil is keeping the cam off the bearings? Or, are you seeing signs of the cam getting into the bearings while under load?

I'm just curious if the roller bearings show a HP gain when running. Has anyone done and A-B-A test?

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

Roller can get lubricated by splash/mist, babbit needs a little direct lubrication. I run 54mm babbit with .030 oil feeds to the cam bearings keep rest of the oil on the rods and mains.

Seems that some one did a dyno test a few years back and came up with roller vs. babbit didn't make that much difference horse power wise for the extra cost involved . If you want every little bit out of your engine than it's a no brainer, go roller.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

Not a matter of what I want to do, or what is best. This is what the block already has. All I need to do now is check if all 5 bearings are the same.

Power is not the issue or gain it's the load from Hugh ass spring pressures most use in those combos that a roller handles and spreads loads better than babbit...........

I have started using Durabond Chill cam bearings in my roller cam motors with the stock Mopar cam bearing tunnels, they work well at reducing the rotational resistance a bunch thumbs scope twocents

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
