I am by no means an experienced expert on which insulates the best but I would glue the dynamat to the roof first.

The Dynomat lite is about 1/16" thick with a foil surface pointing down, and a special Buteral rubber that is very sticky. so, very thin.
Yes, I am going to put in the stock headliner. The headliner was removed by the previous owner, so I am not sure how tight it fits to the roof.
I watched the Legendary videos of insulating the roof with jute padding.
1968 Super Bee...with an Aluminum fuel cell in the trunk, and a A1000 fuel pump that is internal to the tank.

Oh, BTW, I did remove all of the undercoating from the car, weighed it, and it came in at almost 90 lbs!!!
I completely painted the underside of the car, so that added about 5-6 lbs of weight, and adding the Dynomat lite, is another 20 lbs...so, I am still ahead in terms of weight reduction.
Besides, I have a 605 Aluminum Hemi in the car, with dyno numbers at 975 HP at 6400 rpm. plenty of power for the street ;-))

Use the Dynamat extreme with the hand roller for adhesion. I have done several cars this way and the results are worth it. Once the headliner is in its invisible. Just don't out it over the dome light brace. You will get a very noticeable decrease in noise and especially heat. Once its stuck on, its stuck on. Mine have lasted several Nevada summers and none have came loose. Dynamat extreme does not have a smell, unlike some of the other knockoffs.
Nice build BTW, that Hemi is impressive!

I used Dynamat Extreme from Amazon at about 1/2 price with free shipping. I also used the double sided foil covered jute after that. My E-Body is quieter inside than a Mercedes Benz now, but I cocooned the entire interior. It is so worth it. It sounds like you are sitting in a bank vault when you close the door.
