Hey guys. My brother has a 67 Coronet 500 conv. He is worried that someday the hood may come up while driving and kill him Has anyone here put stock type hood pins on a 67 Coronet and have pics of where and how you located them? He has me curious too, so if anyone has pics of a 70 RR/GTX with factory pins, post up as well.

Well, I saw the January issue of Hot Rod and there on the cover is a hood-less 70 Charger R/T w/hoodpins. That answers my question of where they go on the 70, but still need info or pics of where's the best place to put them on a 67 Coronet since they were not an option at the time. Anyone?

usually they go next to the "bumpers" on the core support. And my 70 will be getting a set w/ leashes.

Yeah, the 70s seem to replace the inner bolt on the core support behind the hood bumper. I haven't looked at his car yet to see what's there, but I know it's different than the 68 up cars. I figured someone here would have already done this.

The hood pins are attached to brackets welded to the radiator core support. The hood pins are attached to those and then adjusted to the desired height.

Again, hope that helps!

Do you have a pic of them with the hood open? It would be nice to see how you did the bracketry.

I've got a 71 GTX with factory hood pins. PM or e mail me if you'd like to see pictures.
