Non rally dash. I had the dash out to add a oil pressure guage. When reinstalled, the fuel guage is working properly but the temp guage immediately goes to full right when key is turned on. I thought it may be the small VR was damaged however it also poweres the fuel guage and it seems ok. any ideas??
Thanks

I would look for a ground in the wire to the sending unit. or bad sending unit.

It was working fine prior to dash disassembly. Forgot to mention deleted amp guage and wired in volt guage.

Update, I unplugged the violet wire (sender) from the guage, hit the key and the guage went to full R. I fiddled with the guage mounts and now it seems to be working. The guage must have been grounding out?

that is the most logical idea.

makes me wonder though, how. As I recall, the pegs that go into the circuit board are insulated where they poke out of the dash frame.

I hate to say it, but I would take it out again to see where it might have touched.
If some insulation broke down, or it was missing.
I wouldn't want driving vibration to cause it to ground out again.
