I am missing the 904 transmission gear selector rod on my 1969 Barracuda project. This is a column shift car. I have the rod that goes from the column to the cross shaft and the cross shaft as well. I need the rod that goes between the cross shaft arm and the shift arm on the transmission. I am not even sure what it looks like exactly. Is this part available anywhere? Can it be fabbed up? A picture would help a lot. Thanks.

I might be able to get a pic of it. it'd be a common boneyard piece. EDIT I think just a rod with a short 90 deg nub on each end, one for the hole in the bellcrank and one for the hole in the trans shift lever.

The rod has to have a 90* bend on one end to plug into the plastic bushing on the end of the trans shift arm. The other end has to be straight to fit through the pivot block on the linkage, but there is no clamping screw on the block. There must be some provision for clamping the rod at the right point to hold it and get the right length adjustment. There is probably a bend involved too. No boneyards around here with anything older than late 1990's stuff. The ones on eBay all say they are for console/floor shift, so I doubt they would fit. A pic would be great.

I fond a pic on the interweb that helped. I fabbed up a rod that should work out of parts in my pile and a welder. Thanks for the responses.

always a good day when you can answer (solve) your own questions and if you saw the condition of my parts stash I was not looking forward to digging (tunneling) around in there (but I was gonna).
