For those of you w/ electric fans- Did you seal them to the radiator w/ a strip of foam, or did you just attach the fan w/ the shroud butted against the radiator core??

Do you think a strip of thin weatherstrip foam will melt if it's pressed against the radiator core. Is it even worth trying?

The foam works.

I got a length of 1/4" vacuum hose and split it lengthwise. Then I pushed it around the perimeter of the fan.
The hose won't rub off like foam will.

Rubber gasket for sealing electric fans to radiators from Spal. They fit more than just a Spal fan with some modification.

I used the pipe insulation foam when I had to have something to space the fan off the rad fins.
If you don't have to worry about that, then don't put anything.
