I just installed my rear seat. There is a a big gap between upper and lower seats is this normal on convertibles? Just in the corners you can see orange paint.

are there two sets of seat hooks on the floor under your seat? early SPD?

some floor boards were painted black in that area to limit the visibility of paint between the seat halves primer

My 70 survivor Challenger had black paint in that area. Also the top and bottom of seat did not really line up that great, gap between them.

you can add some padding inside and under the cover

Mom & Dad let me buy a brand new 70 Challenger R/T 440 Six-Pack Super Trac Pack when I was 17

(Robert what is a 440 Six-Pack)

Thanks for the replies. I have seen it on other convertibles just thought someone did somthing wrong. I can pull it out and paint the floor but the gap is awful. Only one of seat hooks. Looks like the bottom corners need to come up a few inches.

My 70 challenger has 2 sets of hooks. Only the back set stops the gap. Was built in Oct 69
