I bought some engine paint for my 440 off of Frank Baldason and I forgot to ask him if it was ready to spray or if I had to thin it. I've tried calling him numerous times but can't get ahold of hold him. Maybe someone here could answer this for me. Thanks!

I'm assuming you bought a quart of the 440 orange, which is PPG Deltron DAR, correct? If so, you'll need to reduce the paint using the instructions in the PPG "P-Sheet", which can be viewed at the attached link:

http://us.ppgrefinish.com/PPG-Refinish/Products/Automotive-Refinish/Deltron

Click on single stage, then the Product Data Sheet for DAR. The mix ratio is 8-3-1 Paint-Hardener-Reducer. However, Frank recommends not using hardener with his engine paints because it will increase the gloss level. Frank sprays his engines without hardener and lets the heating cycle during starting cure the paint. If you do this, the resulting gloss level will be very close to the actual gloss on assembly line painted engines.

Hope this helps.
