Buddy has a 2007 Chrysler 300. The shifter is stuck in park. It starts and runs fine, just wont shift out of park, like the shifter itself is stuck.. any ideas? Thanks

Yeah, get a new shifter.

He likely spilled his drink in it.

Lift out the little cubby in the console and you'll find the release for the shifter. It'll be a little red tab. That will allow the shifter to move between gears.

I will try to interpret...If you move the little pink/red tab, your shifter linkage will allow your shifter to come out of park.

Probally the park and brake link.Typically electric so you have to step on the brake before you can move out of park position.Had a few at work that went bad.Rocky

So until he replaces the shifter he will have to move the red tab to shift it, correct?

Just replace the broken plastic thingy with the aluminum one in the link above.

The dealer solves the problem by replacing the whole shifter for big $$$ and it still has the junk plastic piece.

If the shifter is bad it won't fix itself.
