Anyone know the best way to repair 69 Charger grill plastic?
Have one that has 10 missing teeth that holds the big section left of the I [color:#000099][/color]Tried Q-Bond by K- Tool International but the whole section fell back out.
Had a body shop restore the whole grille over a three period. Just need to fix the center section. They were selling repr. center sections but stopped production. Here the repr. complete grille starts to droop in hot weather.

Do you know if the broken area is ABS plastic? I repaired a motorcycle trim piece to perfection- actually had to build in a missing chunk. I took a separate piece of ABS and sanded it to create dust. I mixed the ABS dust with acetone to make a thick slurry. I used this slurry to glue in a piece needed to make the part whole. I didnt just apply slurry in the crack but applied to both sides as well. When it cured I sanded/blended to perfection- used a high build primer for sand scratches and the end result was an undetectable repair.

Keep old mopars alive.

Classic has a nice complete INJECTION MOLDED PLASTIC grille available just like ORIGINAL, either that, or repair it as member 2boltmain has described above

IMHO for the price of the Classic grille you'd be light years ahead of the project

The grille in my 68 was pretty bad. Cracks, especially at the mount locations, and a lot of broken fins. My 68 is ABS plastic and yours probably is too. I went to a local plastics company and they let me go through their dumpster and I found a piece of ABS. It takes time and sharp tools but you can cut the abs to repair your grille. Use ABS cement (any hardware store) to glue the parts together. Actually the abs cement melts the plastic so your repairs will be stronger than stock. Much stronger. After the repairs I painted with Dutch Boy rattle can paint. 10 years and still good

I like Permatex plastic welder two part epoxy type cement for plastic repairs. Hard to find - I get it the local Tractor Supply. Stinks a bit when mixed up but I've repaired many types of automotive plastic parts with it. I've glued together my busted up ABS 01 Ram dash and gauge bezel, mounting tabs for the grill, pieces inside the center console, and broken bits on 1970 Dart grills with it. This is not a regular epoxy; it's specifically designed for plastic.
