Part stores here no longer stock the round types found on old cars with carburetors so I have to order them and come back a few days later.

Mastershake340 master Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 8,341 Crook County, ILL	A few years back when I had a '08 Focus I was not pleased when I stopped at Pep Boys for an air filter and all they had for my car was a Purolator for $28. So I left and went to Wal Mart, and they didn't even have any filter there for my car. Got home and checked Rock Auto, and was pleased to see they had 5 or 6 choices for my Focus. I ordered a Motorcraft which was around $12. I know some here have complained about Rock Auto's shipping charges, but I've never found it expensive shipping to me near Chicago. They sent that filter by itself in a really big box too! Since then I've only bought my air filters from Rock Auto. When I am ordering something from them, I think if I am going to need a filter anytime in the near future, if so I will order one or more and put it in my cabinet for when I need it. No more getting ripped off by the local parts stores on air filters for me.

I get them in the spring and order 2 of each kind for each vehicle and wix oil filters for the classic. Saves on shipping that way. I also stock up on bulbs when one goes out when I order filters. Shipping is what gets you. Make sure they are all coming from the same warehouse if possible.
