It's not a huge event but I have had a good time the few times I have gone. MoKan is always a fun place to race. My car is 7MPH faster and 100lbs heavier than last time I raced there, I made sure to check the adjustment on the rear brakes when I swapped tires this evening

It was a fun day overall, the track was iffy but on one run I set a new best 60ft of 1.513 from a 1.525. Like everyone says about radials, they either hook or they don't.
I ended up making it to the Semi finals as well as one of MoparBilly's brothers(Boone) in the Duster. We were hoping to avoid each other in the Semi's and to move on to an all Oklahoma Drag week Mopar Final, we did manage to avoid racing each other but neither of us advanced to the final.

The day started out cold and dreary but later turned out pretty nice after the sun decided to make an appearance. We had a good day as well with our Dakota and was able to improve upon its previous best et & mph. We are running drag radials on it and like you say, they either hook, or they don't. They seem to do pretty well as long as you do a good burnout. If you don't get the smoke rolling good off of them in the water box, they will spin every time with our less than ideal suspension setup. With only 3 runs prior to today on my new combo, I'm still sorting the bugs out of my Duster but its starting to come around. Made 3 more passes today and made improvements each time with a best of 10.61@125. It was able to load on the trailer under its own power at the end of the day, so I'll call that a win for now. Lol. The track was a little sketchy, especially in the right lane. On my second pass my car made a hard move left at the launch but drove through it and somehow kept it in my lane. Would have liked to stayed longer but ended up leaving earlier than originally planned so I didn't get a chance to meet anyone or watch the eliminations.

Jason I had a blast to day. Except the damn sunburn I got again. Lol thanks for letting me hang out with you and James. I got a pic of your car. But moparts keeps saying the pic is to big even after I shrink it down. I will load it on to my computer and then try and post it.

I was surprised by how much new iron there was up there. Several Hellcats running in the low 10.s & high 9's. Several Challengers running very quick. I would say almost as many Gen III cars as muscle cars. The times are definitely changing. Some really good deals in the swap meet if you needed the parts. Crowd was bigger this year than last. And I'm sure the weather didn't help it.

Kayse and I were there, I had every intention of running the Viper but decided against it after we got there. A buddy had hit the wall the night before down and Sikeston and has more than likely totaled his car. As cold and windy as it felt and with the sun not coming out till 2:30 it wasn't warming up very quickly. Not being sure just how sticky the track was going to be and knowing we had a 4+ hour drive home afterwards made me think that maybe I shouldn't run it. We watched the racing, looked at the show cars and bought some swap meet parts. We had to have a buddy (Dan York) haul the stuff back do to lack of space in the Viper. As usual we had a great time there. I took some pics, I'll post them later when I get a chance. It's already on our "to do" list for next year.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

That's Mark Goodman's car. It is pretty much a work of art.

There was some pretty quick slant cars there. There was a Procharged one from Minnesota that ran a 10.80 and then broke something. There was also a 62 Valiant with a slant that ran in the 14s and drove from Minnesota. That Lancer has been around for a long time now and has always been impressive.

The blower car was Steve Nitti. That is a really sweet car too.
The white Valiant is the same one Seymour drove on Drag Week. He has driven it all over the country racing it. He has even made a pass at Benneville with it. Seymour is a hoot to talk to.
