As I read all over the internet about leaks in jeeps. everyone that has leaks Have the liberty with sun roof. Ours does not have the sun roof option, any ideas why its leaking, Passenger side only.
Should I take it to a glass shop and have them take windshield out and reseal?

You need to, or have done, get it diagnosed to find where it is leaking from.. Take it to an auto glass shop.. Most have experience with cars that have a problem area for water leaks...

The side molding should be held on by screws. Take it off and look for a gap in the sealant. If you have an air compressor, spray the outside with something that foams and spray from the inside with air. You should see the foam blow away if the windshield is the problem. Use ureathane to reseal.

before you do all that, make sure the cowl vent drain is not plugged up. my son's Wrangler was leaky but cleaning out those drains cured it. not sure is a Liberty is even close to a 94 Wrangler in that respect though....

I don't think they are the same in that respect mikemee1331, but reading online a lot of topics bled from the Jeep wrangler to the Liberty and Nitro. I will take all the plastic off and look, If I see something not correct I will take to a glass shop. The jeep is my daughters daily. I am one that wants it to last a few years it only has 98k on the clock. Also fixed as correct as I can get it. I don't mind driving something sketchy but not my wife and kids

Adding to this, most of the sunroof leaks I have seen are plugged up vents also....

Pop the hood and look around for leaves and debris around the bottom corners.. Usually drains there... Simple things first..

maybe not even remotely close, but check the ac box drain for clogging, especially if it has the style of drain elbow that has a flat molded to the end of the round drain elbow that narrows down to about 1/8" opening. my old man had a 94 sebring[?] that started that leak on the passengers side during the winter. you certainly don't use the ac in the winter, but for some reason, the box drain chose that time to plug up. the box filled with condensate water, [it should have frozen ?] and was leaking from the back side at the parting line the box halves come together. it was a real head scratcher to find, but once the box drain was cleared, no more leaks on the floor.

Ok so I went to the Toms Auto Glass in chesterfield for some more advise. He said without a doubt it would be the fresh air inlet box in the cowel that was leaking. told me from the factory they hardly ever assembled them correctly. Missing screws no seals etc.

Well I took the Plastic cowl pieces off and yes there was a crap load of leaves and all kind of stuf in there. But on two m6 nuts holding the vent cover on. the foam seal was dry and really non existant.

went to parts store bought some good RTV, 4 new m6 nuts came home pot a nice bead areound the vent cap reassembled. blew out what looks to be a drain line.

Hopefully I sealed it all up, it looks sealed, RTV squeezed out so I know it is sealed.

I will post pictures shortly they are two big

Back when I did Auto Glass we usually knew where the leak was coming from when we knew what it was ( brand/model)

Had a pretty good idea they could point you in a direction..

Sorry Mikemee1331,

All you guys were spot on. I always like to come here first to ask questions. I know Toms Auto Glass in one of the best in our area but it never hurts to ask your extended Family First.

As you can Tell I like to do things my self, Not because I'm Cheap because I know I can fix it myself and get some relaxation.

Thank you again and I will let you guys know over the next few days if that was the fix, expecting lots of rain over the next 4 days.

Thank you

Just a small update, we have had a ton of Rain the last week or so here in south east Michigan. The leak is gone and Rain water seams to be draining correctly to under the car as designed. I noticed a small puddle behind the front passenger wheel from the drain tube last night(good News). The interior front Carpet is dry and I can now positively say its fixed.

Thank you again to the Moparts Community
