My 99 Dakota is throwing a P1197 code

"1/2 O2 sensor slow during catalyst monitor"

Which of the O2s are the culprit?

The "1/2" must mean something, but I can't figure it out.

TIA
Ken

That sensor has acted up before. I wonder if theres a problem upstream, any way to test a cat?

If you have access to a scanner you would monitor the upstream and downstream o2 sensors Same reading on both would indicate a failed converter. As long as the reading is not max out lean or rich.

Salem, I just got a scan tool. Once I get past the setup stage I think I'll log just the o2s. Neat idea! up
