They use the chrome bumper cores to make the rubber bumpers.

When the original cores became harder to come up with in decent condition that's what Gene Gregory did.

I was thinking of changing my 73' challenger to a 71' and think the rubber bumper look would be the way to go. If they did. Nice one, I would be tempted!

Gene preferred factory original Mopar cores.

At one point when I was at his shop he had some repro bumpers that he was going to use because he couldn't find any decent straight cores to use.

He also had a pile of what he considered junk cores, twisted or tweaked in such a way he wouldn't use them. hammer
