info priorly copied from here: "wix 51515 is 20 microns with bypass 5.180 tall. 51515R race full flow no bypass 60 microns. 51773 same as 51515 ex it is 2 qts & a weak 7" tall. 51085 3.790" tall". not sure if wix or better or worse than MP. I have a parallel flow dual filter setup on the stock car & I need the 51773 for the extra capacity but I want to confirm that it is still a 20 micron unit like the info posted for the 51515 (i'll confirm it also). I'd like to have no bypass & the filters get changed after each race (dirt tracks are murder on oil contamination) so I dont think there is a chance of it (the pair) getting plugged up & I think the 20 micron protection is a bennie.

Run the Mopar filter. It has an anti-drainback and works excellent.

The 22470 Moroso is a bypass filter, the only on I have found to have a anti drain & NO bypass is the Jomar filter.

from Moroso page, read the bottom, also Summit says it is a bypass filter.

Part # Description
22470 Racing Oil Filter, Ford and Chrysler, 3/4" -16 UNF thread, long design (5-1/4" high), burst strength: 500 psi (max.)

After many years of designing and testing racing oil systems and related components, we’ve determined what’s most important to oil filtration. Many filter manufacturers stress the importance of filtering the smallest particles out of your engine’s oil, with references to "micron ratings" of 10 or less for a filter’s efficiency.
With the help of research performed by filtration technology experts, Moroso engineers have determined that particles smaller than 20 microns in diameter are not large enough to produce engine wear. Furthermore, we’ve found that filters with extremely low micron ratings create an excessive pressure drop across the filter. They can be so restrictive that the filter by-pass valve can open. With the by-pass valve open, unknown to you—NO FILTRATION will occur!
To maximize filter performance, Moroso Racing Oil Filters have a rating of 27 microns, which produces a maximum initial restriction of only 2.5 psi when tested to SAE j806! The result is less pressure drop, more flow, less oil by-pass and maximum filtration performance important in severe racing conditions.

Thank you for setting me straight. For years I thought these Moroso filters were no by-pass.Is there a single oil filter that will flow 20/25 GPM??

The guys at Jomar might have a solution for your size limitations. One of their filters saved my bottom end from the damage that occurred when my exhaust rocker bearings disintegrated last year. No bypass works.

Here's their link.

FYI Wix emailed back & stated that their 51773 (2 qts/almost 7"tall) is 32 microns and the 51515 is 21 microns

I use system one oil filters. http://www.system1filters.com/
Buy one keep it forever, clean it when you change the oil, billet body never blows apart, if you think you have engine trouble take it apart and look inside it. Eventually it pays for itself because you don't throw it away. They have drain back valves and several lengths.

My friend Bill Banks used one of the Oberg filters on his '70 Road Runner years ago. I never could afford one of them then, but I could probably find one at a swap meet now for cheap.

The system 1 is good for dyno use. Only takes a few seconds to open it up and see if the engine is making any trash.
