Hey All, My Tow rig is a 2001 Ram 3500 4x4 with 5.9 mag and 46re Tranny. I lost reverse on a fairly fresh transmission. I removed the pan and found thè reverse servo is stuck up inside the bore. So either the seal went or the common servo crack.. So the question looming in my mind is: All of the procedures I found online indicate that you must remove the Transfer case and OD Unit from the Transmission in order to remove the pin from the reverse arm so that you can remove the reverse servo from the bore.. Is there an easier way? I was thinking maybe remove adjuster from the arm and removing it from the band, maybe still not enough room to get the servo out.. Please enlighten me on an easier way! Thanks

I ground the little tab off on an older 727 in my RamCharger for that same fix and then made an angled piece that went on the nearist bolt to keep the pin from falling out quite a few years ago and its still going strong! Maybe one of those aftermarket sevros that are sold here on Moparts would be a good insurance plan if yours is galled or crackedf would be something to think about too

It's a messy job but the servo can be removed by removing the strut between the lever and the band and letting the lever hang free. A billet servo assembly will cure the common servo problems.

Thanks guys, that's what I was hoping to hear, I hate to have to pull the transfer case and OD unit..
