I live in Northern Virginia and am looking for other opportunities to run The MoPig once it's track-ready again. I took a quick look at the 422 All Stars N/SS web site and it looks like they put an age cap at 1970 models.

I can certainly "present" my Challenger as a '72, although it also looks like the rules might require me to dig up a Six Pack setup -- or an AFB??? -- too. (I'm trying to imagine the Weiand SS Six Pack intake on top of my raised-port Victors... laugh2 and stuffed under my raised-scoop T/A hood. devil )

Is this something even worth looking into? Or would any N/SS series require me to jump through too many hoops to shoehorn my car into a class they run?

I don't know anything about that particular class but my guess would be that most racing groups are looking for new members so if you are "close" they might say "close enough". I doubt they'll allow a Cordoba in but your car is classic and most people don't know the difference between the years anyway.

By most N/SS rules, no. 442 is more liberal. NMCA runs Nostalgia muscle car. As long as the rear suspension is still leaf spring with no tubs.

I race with the Gasser Racing Series in Modified Gas class....

NSS is generally an older class of cars and if its a Mopar, its a B-body typically. Our Mod Gas class allows those NSS cars into our class and up to 75ish...I run both my Duster and 70 Cuda in Mod Gas class.

You will have to look at the rules themselves as ever one seems to run their own variation.

I have raced with the 422 guys great guys they would let a 70 model run however it HAS TO BE lettered with graphics to compete they will give you a one race waiver but that is it Rich is a stickler on this rule. I won the first race I ever entered with them and they would not let me race again until I had the car lettered.

Atco ran their own N/SS class last year. Liberal rules.

You should contact Mike Carr who runs the Tri-State Stock/Super Stock series in Ohio, PA, and MD. He pays out 100%, gets excellent car counts, and can get your challenger into one of the classes. It's open to any NHRA/IHRA legal s/SS, any car legal for 422, and is flexible with the rules (no fuel checks, engine tear downs, etc). I've raced with them the last three years and it's a blast. He has a section with contact info over on classeracer.com
