Hi,

I was troubleshooting my switch, thinking it has a bad ground. That turned out to be the problem, but I noticed an open terminal on the back of the switch. Everything seems to run fine with no wire connected to it, but I am curious. Does anyone know what purpose, if any, this extra terminal serves??

Thanks

That would seem to make sense, but the washer works with the wiring as it is. Maybe this switch was designed for multiple applications? BTW, it's a 3 speed/variable setup.

The 2770380 variable speed wiper switch 12 vdc power input is the B terminal. The first path the current travels is across the internal circuit breaker and the B/U is the output side of the circuit breaker and then powers the rest of the forward, park and washer functions. The B/U terminal is not used for any wiring on an E body.

However, the 2864014 three fixed speed rocker wiper switch in a 68 - 70 Charger, did use the internal circuit breaker out B/U terminal for power to drive the square washer switch to pump motor with a short jumper buried in the main dash harness.
