If memory serves me correct wasn't New York a non title state back then?? only thing available was registration (pink slip)? You are correct, New York started titles after<<<< 1972>>>> Still today you only get a transferable registration Most people don't know this Bob Fixed it for ya. Yet the State of California DMV is unaware that other States did this.

From NYS DMV Info for States that don't know Which Vehicles Must Be Titled? New York State issues a Certificate of Title (MV-999) for: • most motor vehicles of model year 1973 or newer; • motorboats, model year 1987 or newer, that are 14 feet or longer; and, • manufactured homes, model year 1995, or newer, that are 8 feet or more in width, or 40 feet or more in length, or cover at least 320 square feet when erected on site. New York State does not issue a title certificate for any motor vehicle of model year 1972 or older, travel or utility trailer that weighs less than 1,000 pounds, or limited used motorcycle (including a moped).

so it appears the answer is no, they have not all been accounted for. Thanks!
It was probably stripped, parted and crushed back in the 70s

Lets say a stolen car was found years later & the Ins.company was out of business then what. VIN number should be "in the system" as "Stolen" which would make it impossible to register. That car was parted or had a VIN swap after being stolen I would bet...... RIP What system? A board member reviewed the NICB database for my father's stolen Hemi car and it was not there. Stolen 1980. How extensive are these systems, for instances prior to when real computer systems came to be? Am sure there are many records missing. I bet if I had a shred of old paperwork of the car (old registration ), I'd be able to get it currently registered in a non title state without an issue. No that doing so would bring it back. Sorry for the hi-jack....

I recall seeing a gold one at the Mopar Nats in Columbus Ohio about ten years ago. It was for sale and the price was 650K.

Local guy has this one. He bought it from a longtime owner who was also local a few years ago. 2 fender tag car, V code N96 4 speed, triple black, rubber bumpers, you name it. Great car. Not sure rubber bumpers were available in black?

I don't think they were either Technically black was not on the availability "list" when ordering these cars, but I've seen a number of original TX9 70-71 Cudas with front, front/rear black "factory" installed bumpers over the decades, as well as a handful of other E's with elastromeric bumpers in non available colors, I'm sure there's also Dealer done cars as well

I've seen 'Cudas with Cragars too, but that too is moot. Anyway, when someone says, "2 fender tag car, V code N96 4 speed, triple black, rubber bumpers, you name it," it's easy to infer he thinks the car is correct with those bumpers. Car looks nice, but certainly there's more to the story for inquiring minds.
