On 71 Air Grabber Roadrunners, are the turn indicator lights usually mounted on the fender or on the hood? I haven't seen too many like mine (don't know if you can see the pic I'm still having trouble posting)

If anybody would like to chime in on percentages of hood mount vs fender mount that would be great and also, would you need to actually have the A01 light group in order to have the indicator lamps in the first place?
Thanks

That air grabber was added to a regular hood.

Not sure if you guys can open the link that I posted at the top. It'a pic of my car with A/G hood and you can see clearly the turn signal indicators are on the hood and not the fenders. Would love to know more about code L31 as it pertains to the Air Grabber cars. The hood does not show any signs of being modified cut drilled or hacked. I doubt that it was a modification but at the same time, I have no proof. It's a Canadian car as you might know, but at the same time, I've never seen any differences between Canadian and American 71 Roadrunners or GTXs. Are there any?

Satellite flat hood and Air Grabber the turn sigs are on the fenders.
RR and GTX standard hood they are on the hood.
Is yours an N96 fresh air hood car? Not too hard to convert a flat hood to an A/G hood. The factory A/G hood will have nuts welded inside of the structure for the actuator.
Not hard to add the turn sigs to an A/G hood which is my guess.

L31 (hood/fender mounted turn signal indicators) was only available as part of the A01 "light package" on a '71 Plymouth b-body.

28.3% of US spec. '71 Road Runners had A01 (~3,867 cars), there won't be a breakdown for w/N96 VS. w/o N96

that's a 14K mile survivor, was at B-J a few years ago

the bench interior is the "CHEAP SEATS" STANDARD RR (non-DECOR package) in M2T7
the tan interiors were two-tone on most '71 Plymouths

Mine have the nuts for the actuator and actuator bracket. It does not look like it is a flat standard hood modified to accept Air Grabber equipment. It looks like a real A/G hood. There would be tell tale signs of that. I now suspect that it was an original air grabber hood transplanted to a non-air grabber car. I further suspect that my car was originally optioned with the A01 light group and has the hood mounted lights as mentioned by 6bblgt. yes, 71GTX471 indicator lamps look kind of funny but they're in about the same location as the 70 roadrunners toward the back part of the hood. The under part of hood looks correct to accept the bullet style indicator lamps and the harness for it comes up around the brake booster to make the connection there. The base plate for the light looks like it is cradled in a cut out and there is a pilot hole to accept pins which align both lamps perfectly so they are straight and even. like I asked, have you guys seen another Roadrunner set up with the A01 light group that has hood mounted turn signal indicators?

Very few people will know they are wrong. Unless it really bothers you, I would just leave it alone and not mess with your nice paint. Sometimes you just live with things as very few cars are absolutely correct.I see in the pic It also has wrong seat inserts but looks like a decent ride. I'm just saying accept it for what is is unless your plan is to redo the wrongs. It's up to you.

I have never once considered changing the hood mounted indicators. The seats both front and back will be changed in 2 years. My plan is to redo only the FY1 paint and parts of the interior. I might possibly go back to Rallye rims and put Goodyear Polyglas GT tires on for a more authentic look. I'm warming up to those Polyglas tires. Cheers. Lou
