I see they(Tony D) reproduces the lens with the straight lines but there is two other earlier versions. One that has circles in it and one that has a line in the middle and iced looking fogged white. Just curious are they early applications or sea-barge only.

Could you post a picture of the one with circles. I looked at the ones I have and they all look the same, don't think they have the circles you are talking about.

thx

Pretty sure the E-bodies all used the one with the lines like Tony's is reproducing, all the others are indeed C-body.

The lens style may have changed in 1970, the one in my pink Fury is the same as the one in my AAR. I've owned x3 1970 OHC cars and the lenses were all the same, with the lines. The lens was not a serviceable part, you had to buy the complete assembly. To the best of my limited knowledge, there was only one part number for the 70-71 light assembly and it wasn't ebody specific.

Does the lens have the lines? Can't tell be the picture. I have an NOS one still in the box sitting on my desk with the lines I will be using and the part number is 2947947.

The one Chet is listing on ebay is the same one.

No lines in the lens best described as it's "frosted". This also has the switch mount molded into the lens.

your link fixed...

Is it possible to get the switches? My OHC is missing the switch.

1970 Challenger Convertible soon to be T/A convertible

Contrary to the opinions of some, I am not dumber than I look.

No replacement switch that I know of only used...There is two types of switches. One that goes into the plastic lens and one that has a white ceramic type housing. Both look the same on the front side so you need to look at the back side...

I've had the 70 style lens with both types of switch in them..I've always assumed it was an early/late part change seeing how the early style, clear housing would warp/break easily...Even the "new" plastic insert style will discolor with the heat...

Here is an NOS (#2947 861)one of that same lens and this one has the lines.
Date on the box is 12/69..so maybe an early-late thing?

#2947861 shows to be a 69-70 year model part. I've never seen one like that in an E-body. can you tell if the round white circle lens operates separately from the clear lens?

Thanks
Tom

Tom, this would have used in a C-body. The bulb sits behind the round circle, looks just like the one in the eBay ad
