I have a 1963 valiant 24 hours of lemons racecar that I'm currently building. Lemons has updated the rules and now requires a collapsible steering column. My 63 still has the stock non collapsible column.
What year did A-bodies get the collapsible column?
Can I use any other models? F-body maybe, or?? The wrecking yards around me are pretty scarce for A-bodies unless I get lucky so having some other options would be excellent.
Is there anything else I need to watch out for when picking a replacement other than the correct length for power or manual steering?
Thanks, any and all help appreciated, -Jon

1967 was the first year of the collapsible column. I have some parts and pieces here if you wanted to make a road trip. '67 B-body column will also fit an A-body, but the shaft will likely be too long. PM if you want to head down to look at parts. Thanks Jim, I'll send you a PM. -Jon
