My friend has a 63 with welds on the front and wants to know if a 28 or 29" tire will clear. He's looking at Mt sportsman tires.
Thanks,
Mike

I know that 28 inch front tires will clear just fine. I have 7.10 x 15 Goodyear Supercushion black side wall bias ply reproduction tires on my 1964 Plymouth Savoy. They are 28.5 inches in diameter, on 15 x 4.5" American Racing Torq Trust wheels. Awesome looking combo by the way smile

When I first started racing my 1963 Plymouth Belvedere two door sedan 415 HP M.W. in NHRA A/SA stock class I ran a old set of Firestone 820x15 bias plys drag race front tires, they where 31.0 inches tall boogie devil I may have had to raise the torsion bars up a little, if I did it wasn't much shruggy I ended up drag racing two of those cars, one 1963 Belvedere hard top Pro bracket car and the stocker sedan, I ran the 31 inch tall as long as I could, they where weather checked pretty bad when I got them, bad enough that I had to run tubes in them. I ran 29 inch tall Moroso front runners tubeless on the bracket car up

It's a F.A.S.T car! Some times I throw it in the trailer when my son is racing his car.

The car picked up a tenth in sixty with a super tight converter. The ET matched my best but was in close to 100 degree temp.

It will go faster with a looser converter.
