So now that the car is in the shop I guess we have to start the dirty deed of cleaning the crap out of parts.

Started out with the injector plate and hat.The injector plate was not to bad but the hat has a few bad spots.

Here are a few pics of the new screw from PSI. We replaced the gas one with a 206D.

I am debating powder coating the hat black just not sure how well it will hold up to the methanol.

Something you may think about just as a suggestion on the hat. If it's mag then the dow 7 coating works with alky, and if it's aluminum check out electroless nickel. It's tough as nails, resists everything, and has a very cool look about it. The electroless nickel looks bad to the bone against flat black because it's not chrome looking, but it's kind of shiny and people never know what it is. I did some suspension parts in it and people ask if ti, or stainless. It just looks different and they can control exactly how much build up you want so it doesn't interfere with moving parts like powder or regular anodizing. Just a thought, and I wish you the best on getting her back together the way you want.

Another thing Jimmy, have you considered putting her on E85? It's not as corrosive, cheaper, and not so hard on the ole eye balls and throat. Guys are making 2500 with it forced and buying it at the pump.

Darren it is Mag, where would I get dow 7 and what does it look like?

There was a company in Atlanta doing it at one time call AMFA. I'll check with them if you like. It looks kinda dull gold with a clear finish over top like old mooneyham blowers. They used it a lot with great results. I'll look for a picture of it and poster'up.

You know that's kinda what it looked like before the fire.If you can find out I would appreciate it.

I'll call them tomorrow Jimmy, I bet you're right about what it was before. There are a number of mag conversion treatments like dow 19 as well.

The electroless nickel works on most everything, and looks good on C moly too.
