I've gone back & forth on the VFN 5" T/A scoop that Rick R. and some others run for longer than I've been considering doing the Landy band-aid mod. On his solid 9-second car it looks cool. On mine... I think it would look like I don't have the car to back up the scoop. Have Monte send you a kit. Then you could run nines too (if you were running). Problem solved.

I like the scoop on Rick's blue Challenger T/A much better than the Landy lump. Nothing wrong with a scoop on a 10 second car!

I don't really like the "lump" but I do like the TA style boundary layer bleed-off scoop. If I were you, I'd take a TA Scoop and cut it up so it looks like the scoop that comes on the late model Drag Pack cars ... Anyone know how tall a Drag Pak scoop is?

Basic answer is do whatever you want, it's your car. Some will like it, some will hate, but in the end it only matters what YOU think.
Now if it was me, I would skip the "lump" and just section the whole top half of the scoop and raise it. Same profile only higher. The lump looks like an after thought (which it was). But again, it really only matters what YOU think 1000% Do you want to be a player or a poser? A leader or a follower? I agree with what they said

I put a 5" six pack scoop on a lift off glass hood on my car. I don't know how to post pics on here anymore, but it's the same look as the red mr.norm 71 hemi challenger. It's obnoxious for sure. But so am I....lol

The lump is part of mopar history so how can you argue with that? The thing is you have to do it correctly, if you don't it will look @#%&ed up.
Have a great day Iowan

The Landy "Lump" scoop looks like part T/A at the front, and part Six Pack at the rear.

That was likely done in a last minute thrash when the hood would not fit...........LOL!!! If more than one hood, pretty large possibility no two are alike

Don't like the lump, its main purpose was Probably just for clearance, like your looking to do. In that case, if I were to do it. Id open up the whole scoop, as others have stated, and oh yeah, don't screw it up.

If more than one hood, pretty large possibility no two are alike I am guessing by saying do it correctly he means do it to look as close to how it looked on Landy's car when Landy ran it. Unless Landy modded it more and had more then one look on his Lump scoop on his car. I dont think anyone else ran one like that other then Landy as far as I can remember but I may be wrong. Ron
