Anyone know anything about the ESAB/Tweco Fabricator 141 multi purpose welder? Quality, performance, bang for the buck?

ESAB is pro equipment. Quality should be outstanding, price may be high because you get what you pay for. ESAB has been around for 110 years.

Hold on there .... That 141 used to be made by Thermal Arc who got bought by Victor who got bought by Tweco and it sounds like they got bought by ESAB - all in a VERY short timeframe. ESAB was never into entry level machines so this was probably the easiest way to tap into a very large and growing market. Anyhow, Thermal Arc made quality machines BUT they jumped on the China boat and that 141 was made there. Does it make it a bad machine? Absolutely not. I purposely bought a Thermal Arc inverter tig machine because they make a quality product that has all the features of the Miller BUT at half the cost. So don't be afraid to buy that machine - its just important to know the background.

If you read my other welder posts, I bought a Tweeco 181i when it was on a really good sale. It mig welds good. TIG is lift arc, and the torch and foot control are additional $$$. I haven't used the stick weld function of the machine. It is fairly small, so it is easy to take to different work locations. The adjustment knobs for wire speed and voltage could be better at holding the settings. They spin easy, so need to be careful not to bump them.

You've been around long enough to know nobody searches previous posts!
