Don't they use the springs off of an Omni or one of those front wheel drive cars? I think I remember a Stock racer with a 74 Dart sport that had a lightened hood and bent it in the middle when he went to close it. After he got a new chemically cleaned hood he told me he got springs at pick a part off of a front wheel drive car.

You can get some at the local hardware store as a backup plan.

I got mine at a wrecking yard. There were lots of vehicles with that type of hood spring and I ended up bringing home 3 sets to try. The ones I saw on a ford truck were almost identical to my Barracuda springs. I got a set off a Dakota and a Jeep and a FWD car, all with different number of coils, spring width and spring thickness.

my friend was just at Glasstek and picked up his hood and they said they don't have them, looks like we have to go salvage yarding.
