it depnds on which rods, crankshaft type, rod material, type of pistons, which block and so on

so has anyone crated a shortblock and shipped it? if so how did you do it? have a guy who wants me to ship my shortblock but, I'm not sure how to go about doing it???

I bought one last year from a member in IL. He put it upside down on a heavy duty pallet and band strapped it to the pallet. He then wrapped it in plastic. You could get creative and make brackets to bolt it to the pallet instead.

Check with your local Mopoar car dealer to see if they have any used engine crates you can buy
