2001 Ram 2500, 5.9 Magnum. Intake was pulled to do the plenum gasket: ran perfect but was sucking oil. No other issues. One owner truck, religiously maintained, 150K miles. As part of the job, all the O-rings on the injectors, all the throttle body gaskets, etc. were done. Dizzy was removed and replaced- indexed where it was prior to removal. Everything has been re-assembled, all connections double checked, etc. Upon initial start up after the job, the truck runs/idles at 600rpm smoothly- but will not rev when throttle is moved. No apparent codes. What next to check? MAP, AIC and TPS connections have been checked.
Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly you need to retrain the throttle. Turn the key on with out starting the engine. Slowly depress the gas pedal a couple of times. Turn the key back off and start the engine and see if it works.

You don't have the throttle cable hooked up or hooked up properly. The throttle cable must go under the black cable guide on the throttle body lever. There is no learn procedure for the throttle on a 5.9 magnum.

My advice only works on a drive by wire. If your's is cable operated then never mind.

This. I've made that same mistake.

The issue was the dizzy not in correctly, as much as he marked it before removal. There is a fuel sync aspect, which relies on the dizzy being in proper time. Up and running now. Thanks all for the suggestions.

Thats good. Usually when the dist was out of sync the eng would start to miss around 2000 rpm. Ron

Just for future reference there is no reason to remove the distributor to remove the intake manifold. Glad you found your problem though.
