So I am thinking about possibly pulling the trigger on an Indy Maxx block. From what I have heard, Indy's machining isn't the best, but the product is quality. What I want to know is the cons of going to a block like this. The pro's that come to mind are durability, strength, weight reduction, and repairability. What are the down sides other than cost?

I am thinking about building a 500" RB setup for nitrous, or eventually a turbo. But right now, just getting something stout.

Aurora, Oh.
Give Best Machine a call and they can answer all your questions. Oh and get the block from them if you in fact do pull the trigger.

The only downsides i've found are no dipstick, retorqing the first couple times out, if your not using a motor plate it takes hemi mounts, AND the biggest downside is dealing with indy, (x2 on calling best machine). Also the horrific sounds it'll make heat cycling until its good and seasoned takes some getting used to. the weight off the nose... priceless! p.s. Watch your lifter link bar clearence to the back of the block. I heard the eagle cranks fit great, my callies needed re-clearenced.
