Haven't run this by Josh yet, so maybe premature, but seeing if anybody would find some fun in this new class.

11.50 index
Foot brake
5/10 pro tree
No box
Probably pay 8 spots, depending on what the popularity of this might turn out to be.

Probably something like 20 dollar entry
750 win
350 runner up
150 semi 's
75 quarters

Cool.

I just want to see people( like me) who don't have really fast cars be able to run on a pro tree and race " outside the box" a little for some extra fun.
I would like to make the payoff attractive enough so we can get a good bit of interest in it.
The wife and I have been very fortunate with our business and it would do my heart good to throw some money at something I have enjoyed my whole life.
I will run this by Josh and see if he is willing to give it a shot.

Sounds great to me! I ran my first pro-tree this summer and had a blast. My little '65 Dart only runs 11's but I love that time bracket.

Thanks for (hopefully) doing this.

I hope it happens, don't know why not. I don't want a dime of the entry fees, just want to pay the purse and hopefully race in it if I can get my car to 11.50.
I am not sure how sponsorship usually works, and where the entry fee goes?

Sounds great Don. Thanks for stepping up as it's things like this that will help to keep the sport alive and hopefully growing. I'm sure it's hard to get sponsorship to keep all of these classes and races going at an event so any and all help I'm sure would be appreciated by the promoter and the racers.

bow

That or an 11.00 index would be a fun class.

I think Don would like to participate in the class he was hoping to sponsor.

Most promoters are going to "estimate" the number of cars a new class will draw. Then between sponsors and entry fees they want the entire payout covered without coming out of their pocket. So if you intend to "sponsor" such a class with such a low entry fee, I expect you will be paying the majority of the purse yourself. Would take 85 cars for entry fees to pay purse

My plan was to indeed cover the entire payout myself.

Crt 10.0 certainly is pretty popular. I dont see why another class like it wouldn't be popular also.

I know you're thinking 11.50 so you can run it, but maybe see from josh where the biggest number of cars run ET wise. IF you want to "give back" might as well try to cover the most amount of people you can.

Might end up a 11.0 class, might end up a 12.0 class.

I hear ya. My thought about 11.50 is more than just the fact I can maybe run in it( fact is, my car has a ways to go to ever get there, remains to be seen if I can)
It's more that it allows sportsmen guys who don't have a cage, to be able to run. The cutoff is 11.49. Also have a lot of 11.50 Max Wedge guys. 11 flat would need a cage, and those guys running around there could slow they're cars down to run 11.50 if they wanted to.
Just fits a lot of people I think.
And yea, if I put up the money, heck yes, why would I not want to participate.

750 winner
350 runner up
150 semi finals
75 quarterfinals
20 buck entry
A big field would barely pay for just the winner share.

Build the rules to fit your car lol

Only stroker 318 with a car lot guy driving, must have 2 gloves and an ice scraper in the glove box and jumper cables in the trunk.

Just messing around lol.

Good luck and I hope yall get it worked out. Another sponsor is always good

Not a stroker.... Lol

Actually for my car, a 12.0 class would be the best.

My odds of ever winning would be extremely poor anyhow. Not many 3400 pound cars are going to react off a pro tree very good.

Sorry for my negativity yesterday and encourage anyone to help support the sport. I would suggest you talk to Josh.
