I went to a T & T saturday to try the 950 and compare it to the 850. But all in all it was a crappy day all around as one thing that just slipped my mind is I have had the same slicks on my car for over 3 years of driving and a little racing but there was not much left on them and my hook was not as good as it usually is. It also got crowded and they had a few oil downs so I only got 3 passes. The first pas on the 950 it spun alot as I only had a 1.62 sixty and ran a 10.93 @ 123.17. Well I knew I would not get many passes so I felt the mph was down a little from the 850 so I slapped the 850 back on and made a pass. It hooked much better with a 1.52 sixty and felt good until I hit third gear and then it layed over and then picked back up in the traps. It ran a 10.91 @ 122. confused Well I had turned the 850 upside down a few times to empty the gas out of it so I could put it in my trunk and bring it with me and I thought maybe a little dirt got in a passage. I tried to rev it and choke it to clean it out and then got back in line just before the closed the staging lanes. The last pass felt ok as it had a 1.55 sixty but only ran a 10.89 @ 123.87. So I never had a chance to do any other tuning on the 950 but with the 1.62 sixty I feel it lost at least a tenth on that run and could have hit a low 10.80. I thought it would mph better as it seemed like a nice day and the last two times I raced at Cecil it pulled 124 to 125 mph. I guess I was just thinking it would run a little better then it did. I believe most of you are right as it seemed to run about the same with the 950 Proform as it does with the 850. I might go again next year if I get new radial slicks and work some with the 950. Driving the car with the 950 feels just like the 850 does as both have great throttle response. I wish I had time to do more that day but by the time I left my back and knees were killing me as it just tears me up standing around to long but I wanted to look at some of the other cars there so I was on my feet a long time. By the last run I just wanted to get out of there and go home to get off my feet. All in all I felt the car was a good tenth off what it usually runs at that track but I had a ton of fun as both of my sons went. Ron Jr raced his Dart which ran 11.40's all day with the 400 in it and he bested his old best of 11.45 by running 11.41. The only change to his Dart was he sealed the six pack scoop that he put on to the carb. Tim my youngest son raced Ron Jrs SRT-4 which is basically stock with a tuner on it and it had the street tires on it. He ran 14.30 in the SRT-4. I cant complain though as none of us broke anything and we all drove the 45 miles home after racing. The best I got out of the weekend was this pic I found that someone took of my 63. It was not a great day but as they say.............thats drag racing. Ron

Not all trips to the track are as successful as we want them to be. Hanging with your kids though is priceless.

Thanks for the update Ron. Hanging out with family at the track and not breaking anything are always good times.

Thanks for the kind replies. Yes it was a great day as none of the cars broke and they all drove home. And honestly my car did not run to bad considering the hook problem on worn tires and I was only a little over a tenth off my best. Its just I was hoping for some better times that day. It was nice seeing Ron Jr smiling when he ran a new best with his Dart. They are not the fastest as our cars are just mild street/strip cars but they fall within our budget and we do have alot of fun with them. The SRT-4 ran a best of 14.30 as my youngest son Tim drove it but its Ron Jrs daily driver. I did not get to see how well Tim was driving it because I was fooling with my car but Tim is my son who used to have the SRT-4 that ran 12.80's. We did not fool with the SRT-4 at all and it has the stock tires. I remember his old 2003 SRT-4 that ran 12.80's after we did some mods ran 14.0's stock with a drag radial so I guess the 14.30 was not to bad.
Silver67 I go through the lites about 6400 rpm and shift around 6200 rpm. Ron
