Been having a vibration in my car for a while and think I've finally found it

I noticed the centrifugal weights on the pressure plate fingers of my Center force dual friction are riding off center. I pushed the whole setup back centered and took it for a test drive. Crawled back under and it's off again.

Any one ever run into this? What do you think, pull the trans and remove the weight setup?

What is your engine combination? External balance? Factory mopar balance job or done at a reputable shop? I just know that the factory balance is just good enough, but still pretty far off. Don't know if that would cause the issue you're experiencing or not, but it's a thought.

Removing the counter weights defeats their purpose. I'm guessing you have another issue. I've been using Centerforce for many years and have never had the issue you describe.

Pull the trans and change the clutch if the counterweights are loose.

The engine is a 440 I bought as an unassembled short block. .030 L2355 pistons on stock rods and stock forged crank. Bought it off of a guy in OH who said he had the work done years ago by Billy Williams.

I put it together with no issue and have been running it for a few years now.
Just have an annoying vibration that comes and goes. Its really not that bad, not like it has the wrong flywheel or its balanced wrong, or even like the exhaust is rubbing the floor. Runs smooth. Dont notice it unless your driving it.

I've been over everything, nothing loose, even thought it was the bushing in the tailshaft and changed it at one point. Some times I feel it when I'm on a bit of a bumpy road.
Solid motor mounts and no carpet and insulation, maybe I'm just being picky. shruggy

You think haha shruggy
Change the solid mounts to stock rubber ones for a smoother engine and a better ride up twocents
Or forget about that and concentrate on making that beast a real tire burner up boogie

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
