I am gathering info to restore my 1970 440+ 6 non air cuda and was looking for your experience with stock radiators versus aftermarket aluminum ones. What size radiator was factory for this car? Thanks for any input.

There is only one choice, Glen Ray radiators. If you still have the original, they can fix it, or make a repo that is just like it. Talk to them about their better cooling ones that look completely stock, I have on on my 528 and it never gets over 180 degrees.

I went with a U.S. Radiator triple pass 4 core, got it through Classic Ind. for my 572 Hemi.

According to the '70 FSM, 26" was the factory size rad.

22" - If it does not have an optional high performance axle package.

26" with any optional high performance axle package.

If your fender tag shows a 26 then 26" radiator.

Read what Barry has written and go to the car and measure the opening anyways. Run the factory Rad and a Rad Shroud that goes with the Rad and use a mated water pump and housing. I run a factory fan without the clutch. I loose a few HP but the Hemi runs at 163 Degrees no matter what the out side temperature is with a 160 high flow thermostat.

Barry is correct. When I posted the FSM page, I did not notice there is a typo. Part# 2998960 is listed as both 22" and 26".

To make it easier for you:

If your car is an Automatic with a 3.23. gear ratio it has a 22" radiator.

All other 440+6 cars have a 26" radiator.

If you're looking to restore your original, and you probably should being it's a six-pack car, Glen-Ray is the way to go. He did my small font "054" radiator, and it's perfect.
