at Pomona yesterday during qualifing? I don't understand how the times could be just a "tad" quick. Shouldn't they either work or be totally wrong? Would be bad if you were trying to run a dial in or index number. Why let them run if the clocks were wrong? I understood the MPH not working and not fixing it; but to allow bogus ET numbers just seems wrong. But what do I know...

That is not really that unusual, especially if there has been a lot of rain.

I got a timeslip in my Duster once at 41 that said 15:65@243.

Dart Racer,
It's SoCal!! Whaddya expect??
Seriously, the whole event should have been held over until next weekend, and all tickets allowed to be used then.
That, of course, would have been a financial disaster for NHRA, so they were in Desperation Mode!~!
I would have to have all the numbers in front of me to determine if the speed trap beams were picking up the signal from the stripe, or perhaps a short, or computer glitch, or misaligned beams. What ever the problem, they just wanted to get all the Pro Cars down the track once so they could declare it a race, and claim the paying spectators got thier money's worth!! The NHRA is facing some serious issues this year, and this was a shaky beginning..Not pretty at all.
