If I could get into the web site, I'd find the phone number to call him!! I simply wanted to confirm which of the 2 plugs on the bottom of the tranny is the drain plug. Does anyone Know??

Here is a new 6 speed kit from American PowerTrain which looks different from the generic one they sold me 2 years ago.

It looks pretty complete just add your Quicktime bellhousing for Big block or smallblock/Gen III. For automatic swaps they sell the clutch pedal conversion as well. Hopefully they fixed their White Lightning shifter as the early versions were crap and leaked constantly.

American Powertrain also has pretty good customer service. As always there were a few issues in any custom install but I was was happy to deal with them.

No reason why to wait around now, The T56 Magnum is a proven transmission. Thousands of miles, track days and mine has never skipped a beat. If I ever do break it, I simply make a call, fork over 3 grand and get another one in matter of days.

I have the same in my Dart.

We put one of those in a friends Fury just about a year ago because he gave up on waiting for the Passon tranny. It seems to be working well. The tunnel mod was the biggest issue. Looks like this is becoming the only option for the foreseeable future.

Sounds like both AMT and SST have 6-speed kits for e-bodies.

At least the VERY hard part they figured out:

- crossmember

- shifter placement.

STill gotta hack the tunnel. Not that big a deal I don't think.

I wonder if the torsion bar x-member will need whacking???

I've held off on replying to this thread for a while now. I've been on the list since 2011. I am supposed to be 88 or 89 I don't remember now. I have not received any calls, emails, nothing. I'm heavily leaning towards possibly a 6 speed or at least a TKO 5 speed because of this.

Wow that is pretty cool how they made an offset portion to make it fit into the stock location and console of original 4 speed cars!
I personally would not like all the extra parts and wonder how it would change the shift feel compared to direct into the trans?

It seems like these companies really did some research in order to make things more affordable as I had to pay a bunch of custom work in order to make my T56 Magnum fit properly

So your saying that you have been on the list for 5 years and was only #89. And still don't have a tranny??

I am somewhere in the 170's I think.....Jamie told me last week it should be a year or less.

I talked to a friend in our club who claims he's in the low 40s on the list. He's still waiting for notification. But, he did add that his car is an A-body.

Like I stated earlier, the numerical number doesn't mean that's the order you're getting a trans....

Has anybody on the board received a transmission since mid October?

I received my 2 trans at the end of october,I was # 30 on the list....

I'm getting ready to pick up the one for my A body right after the holidays.....
